      New online seminar series for teachers at agricultural schools

      The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein is actively committed to quickly communicating research results to young people and supporting teaching at agricultural schools. Starting in the fall, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management and the University of Agricultural and Environmental Education, two new and compact online seminar series specifically for teachers at agricultural schools.

       

    • Science Days in Raumberg-Gumpenstein

      The next Science Day for our students will take place on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025.

      The "internal school" Science Day on September 12th, 2024 was once again tough - a total of 6 classes were involved: The 5U class went to Wels; the 2nd advanced course, 3L, 3U were in Gumpenstein and classes 5L and 3A visited the Bio-Institut at Moarhof. Despite the rainy weather, the mood was not dampened.

    • 72nd winter conference - specialist day for grassland and livestock farming

      As part of the 2025 winter conference under the motto " Bringing the future down to earth grassland and livestock management day will take place in Raumberg-Gumpenstein on Thursday, January 30, 2025 . In addition to the opening day of agricultural policy, our conference will take place on January 21st. in Vienna, the specialist day for vegetable, fruit and horticulture (23.1. Vienna), the specialist day for agriculture (27.1. Lower Austria), the specialist day for poultry farming (28.1. Stmk) and the specialist day for pig farming on 29.1. in Upper Austria marked the end of this year's winter conference .

    • Training for sheep and goatherds 2025

      Extensive grazing with small ruminants in the Alpine region is of great ecological, social and economic importance. However, this requires well-trained shepherds. In cooperation with the Austrian Center Bär Wolf Luchs and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, under the direction of Ms. Maria Naynar, offers the first certified training for sheep and goatherds on alpine pastures in Austria .

    • 13th Austrian Equine Conference “All About Horses”

      The 13th Austrian event will take place on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. Horse conference “All about horses” took place at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein. We look forward to exciting contributions on “Partner Horse in various forms”, on the economic factor of horses and on health topics.

    • Invitation to the cattle show 2025

                                     

      The brown cattle breeding association and the students of the agricultural and forestry technical schools Grabnerhof and Gröbming as well as our students cordially invite you to the 2025 cattle show, which will take place on April 5th on the grounds of our research facility in Gumpenstein. In addition to exciting competitions, a diverse supporting program is offered for the entire family. We look forward to your coming.

    • SEMINAR: Does my cow feel good? Animal welfare analysis with farmlife.at - application on the farm and in lessons

      Participants learn about the FarmLife Welfare tool, how to interpret farm results and how to use the tool in agricultural practice. In addition, we look at the school uses of the animal welfare tool. This gives you an insight into a practical and competency-oriented teaching method for agricultural schools (e.g. for the subject of livestock farming). No prior knowledge of the farmlife.at business management tool is necessary.

    • 79th ALVA Annual Conference: Understanding Agriculture - Shaping the Future

      Under the motto "Understanding agriculture, shaping the future: A holistic view of the soil, plant, animal and environment system" will be held on May 26th and 27th, 2025 as part of the 79th ALVA annual conference (ALVA - Working Group for Food, Veterinary - and agriculture) presented lectures and posters at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein.

    • Gumpenstein Greening Conference 2025

      The Gumpenstein greening conference on the topic of “flowering areas and flower meadows” will take place from June 3rd - 4th, 2025 in the Grimming Hall of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein.

    The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein combines research and teaching under one roof and is the largest department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. Austrian agriculture relies on a comprehensive quality strategy. The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein supports this path through research, education, advice and teaching.

    Research and teach in tune with the times

    the teaching and training includes a boarding school, both a conventional and an organic teaching and research farm with its own livestock, a teaching forest, various practice rooms and workshops, and a processing center for meat, milk and fruit , a chemistry and a biology laboratory as well as a teaching biotope are available.
