The project "Collaborative Restoration of Agriculturally Influenced Wetlands" (KoWiF) aims to voluntarily preserve, enhance, and restore agriculturally used or influenced wetland habitats in cooperation with practical partners. The project focuses on 12 pilot projects in three German states, where ecological restoration measures are implemented and evaluated in accordance with the peatland and biodiversity strategy and the EU Restoration Regulation.
The project combines practical implementation measures, expert support, economic analyses, and transdisciplinary collaboration. A particular focus is on developing practical management and maintenance concepts, documenting the impact of measures, and deriving recommendations for future funding instruments.
Raumberg -Gumpenstein Research & Development is a project partner in the consortium and contributes its expertise, particularly in the development and implementation of management concepts for selected wetland habitats in the Liezen district. Its tasks include coordinating with project partners, participating in optimizing measures, monitoring and evaluating grazing and maintenance activities, and contributing to economic analyses and funding recommendations.
