In addition to the group of project partners, around 40 winegrowers from all over Austria, consultants from various areas related to viticulture and other interested visitors took part. Conference participants from Slovenia and South Tyrol were also welcome. In the morning, specialist lectures offered information about the establishment and maintenance of biodiversity through species-rich permanent greenery in viticulture, the connection between microbial diversity in the soil and resilient viticulture and the promotion of beneficial insects through species-rich wild plant greenery.
In the afternoon, the detailed machine demonstration on site in the Glaser vineyard stimulated professional exchange. With the machines presented, an optimal care concept for species-rich greenery in the median strip was developed in Silberberg. The plan is to maintain these there permanently by management and to create future young plants with species-rich flower strips.
