As part of the EU project Life VineAdapt, the lanes at the Silberberg State Winery and at Styrian partner wineries have been greened and evaluated species-rich permanent greenery mix in the median strip and a grass mix in the lanes The seeds are G-Zert certified and come from regional collections of wild plants.
The system technology achieved very good results in two work steps:
- seedbed preparation between the tractor tires with rotor reversible harrow
- Sowing a species-rich mixture with surface placement using a Güttler device between the lanes and subsequent rolling with a prismatic roller.
At the same time, a mixture of lawn grasses was sown in the lanes using the split seed box.
last up to 10 years By using a biodiversity mulcher or by removing the middle mulcher blades, the sown species can bloom, serve as a nectar source for insects and the seeds can ripen.
