Practical training in woodworking

During the practical "Woodworking" lesson, the students learn how to process wood professionally. Particular emphasis is placed on the correct and safe use of tools and machines. Skill training and precise work are particular goals. In the lessons, the students produce various workpieces for the Own use.

Teaching material

In wood science, we work out the types of wood with their different characteristics and characteristics, learn about wood drying and defects, wood quality and then go straight to the practical workpiece with the processing rules.

We also produce the following wood connections

  • Width connections (blunt, doweled and laminated joints as well as tongue and groove)
  • Frame connections (nail, screw, tenon and dowel connection, overlaying
  • Body connections (screw, tenon, dowel and slat connections)

and learn how to safely use jigsaws, hand routers, grinders, lamella milling machines, hand planers, carpenter's circular saws, planers, belt sanders, wood lathes, band saws and slot drills

We have a new and well-equipped training workshop at the school for our woodworking training. It is equipped with all the necessary machines and tools needed to process wood.
