Emissions/immissions

This working group deals with all environmentally and climate-relevant emissions from livestock farming, manure storage and its application .

The aim is to reduce emissions and immissions , with the general intention and particularly for animal health reasons being a reduction at the source, i.e. in the animal area. In numerous completed and ongoing projects, new emission factors and reduction measures are being generated, which should subsequently advance Austrian agriculture in this topic.

Of current importance are studies in the areas of feeding and manure removal as well as manure storage and treatment with subsequent application to reduce ammonia and odor, with particular attention to the economic and environmental consequences.
