The four-year transnational LIFE-farm4more project investigates strategies and technologies for reducing climate change in the areas of agriculture, animal nutrition and marine resource use.
The project aims to implement a green biorefinery for extracting protein from grassland forage for use as feed for chickens and pigs, as well as utilizing the resulting press cake for ruminants. The integration of organic farming as a raw material producer, the production process, and the specific application of the generated certified organic feed are of central importance to the project.
In addition, the project will implement the production and application of coal as an animal feed additive in order to measure the reduction potential of climate-relevant emissions and to demonstrate possibilities for carbon storage in the soil.
