Across Europe, the proportion of extensive grassland is steadily declining. Yet, extensive grassland areas, cut once or twice a year, exhibit the highest floristic biodiversity and are among the most ecologically valuable areas of our cultural landscape. They provide habitat and food sources for many species and also fulfill numerous important ecosystem functions.
The special importance of such flowering areas and the possibilities for their re-establishment in the agricultural landscape are the topic of the Gumpenstein Greening Conference, to which we cordially invite you.
The program comprises three main blocks:
- The importance of flowering strips in the agricultural landscape
- Biodiversity areas with regional seed mixtures
- Grassland and pollinators
This event aims to promote biodiversity in public spaces and on agricultural farms.
