The overarching goal of the scientific activity is therefore to spread the FarmLife educational concept as widely as possible at agricultural schools for interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching. An extensive range of tasks arises from the previous FarmEdu project as well as from other current projects that are involved in the further development of the FarmLife tool.
This area of responsibility should consist of 2 large work packages, each of which can be divided into several sub-work packages:
Technical/professional and didactic
- Supplementation and expansion of the teaching material - development of the new key figure areas on FarmLife.at, knowledge questions; Creation of hourly reports
- Programming a teacher tool in the FarmLife web interface
- Didactic evaluation of the FarmLife educational concept
Communication and knowledge transfer
- Strategic expansion and maintenance of the communication network in the area of agricultural schools and state school inspectorates through targeted public relations work (newsletters, etc.)
- Continuation of the annual Train the Trainer seminar offer for teachers and further knowledge transfer at teacher training days, etc
- Support for schools that are already “FarmLife-active” – workshops, involvement of parents (including their farms)
- Integration of universities and technical colleges in the form of scientific work as well as integration into appropriate curricula - modules for courses and adult education institutions (target group-specific), master courses, etc.
This project is financed as part of the departmental research program via dafne.at with funds from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management. The BML supports applied, problem-oriented and practical research in the department's area of expertise.
