Virtual stable tour of the organic pigsty in Thalheim/Wels is online

Transparency in agriculture - the virtual stable tour provides realistic insights into the organic pigsty of the HBLFA-Raumberg Gumpenstein, Thalheim/Wels branch.

Agriculture has always been shown publicly at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein. At conferences, excursions, workshops, etc., participants gain insights into agricultural research and thus also into the processes of an agricultural business. At the Thalheim/Wels (Upper Austria) branch, the researchers have now gone one step further. During the Corona-related interruption of public activities (such as regular stable days), a virtual tour of the stable was created, which allows you to get a taste of organic pig farming from the comfort of your desk.

The short videos embedded in the tour offer the opportunity to explore individual stable compartments in detail and for an unlimited period of time. With the help of the software used, dimensions of stable equipment parts can also be made. This means that troughs can be measured, door widths or nest heights can be determined and the cubature of stables can also be calculated very easily.

No special system requirements are required to use the virtual tour; both a stand-alone PC and a mobile phone are suitable as end devices. The movement takes place either via the touch function of the phone or with a mouse click.

The recordings for the virtual stable tour were made by Seoprofi24 and financed by Bioschwein Austria, which produces and finances short videos from the trade magazine “Landwirt”.
