Guided pasture management as a possible adaptation to current challenges in alpine farming

Extensive grazing in the Alpine region is of great ecological, social and economic importance. Alpine pastures shape our cultural landscape. Nevertheless, alpine farming faces many challenges.

Managed grazing offers one way to respond to this. She enables

  • improved animal monitoring ,
  • simplified access to individual animals and
  • a more optimal use of the alpine pasture . Besides, she is
  • the basis for herd protection .
