Greening at high altitudes presents a particular challenge due to the increasingly extreme site and living conditions at higher elevations. Only vegetation adapted to the location, combined with suitable greening techniques, can withstand these conditions and still fulfill its function within the ecosystem and the landscape. The ÖNORM L1114 standard, developed by a group of experts from research institutions, planning offices, government agencies, ski lift operators, and construction companies, along with the corresponding guideline on "Site-Appropriate Recultivation and Greening at High Altitudes," and numerous practical presentations, form the core of this conference.
