Greening at high altitudes is a particular challenge due to the location and living conditions becoming more and more extreme as the altitude increases. Only vegetation that is adapted to the location in combination with suitable greening technology can defy these conditions and still fulfill its function in the ecosystem and the landscape. ÖNORM L1114, drawn up by a group of experts with representatives from research, planning offices, authorities, lift operators and executing companies, and the associated guidelines for “site-appropriate recultivation and greening in high altitudes” as well as many practice-oriented contributions form the content of this conference.
