In recent years there has been a major change in people's attitudes towards their environment. The preservation of biological diversity has become a particular concern of agricultural and environmental policy. Particularly when it comes to greening in the high altitudes of the Alpine region, consideration for biological diversity and a procedure that is as close to nature as possible is particularly important. This book reflects the current state of the art with regard to site-appropriate high-altitude greening in the Alpine region and is intended to help the methods described therein be applied wherever possible.
