Second diploma course for instructors in functional hoof care

Six hoof trimmers from Austria, Germany and Luxembourg are taking part in this year's course, which is being carried out by the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein in collaboration with European Hoofcare.

Professionally based hoof care is more than just a “cattle pedicure”: husbandry conditions and feeding have a very strong impact on the shape and health of hoofs, which of course has to be taken into account in daily work. In order to optimally prepare future hoof trimmers for their work, the training for prospective instructors also covers a wide range:

The first three-day block covered the current state of knowledge in hoof care, feeding, animal welfare and health as well as the basics of communication and presentation.

Other important teaching content in the diploma course is the preparation and transfer of knowledge in theory and practice. This will be applied and practiced in the practical units as part of the training.

The future instructors are trained by experts, practitioners and educators from the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, European Hoofcare and the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, among others. The technical management lies with Robert Pesenhofer, and the course is organized by Schaumberger Silke, Dr. .
