    Stoderzinken mountain lysimeter station

The HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein has been operating a lysimeter and weather station at Stoderzinken at 1800 m above sea level since 2006. As part of a cooperation and a master's thesis, Reinhold Schöngrundner is creating snow profiles to test the development version of the electronic snow measuring probe Snow-Profiler.

With the help of this probe, it should be possible in the future to assess potential dangers in open areas more quickly and easily. This will be a great development, especially for mountain rescuers, avalanche commissions, but also for winter sports enthusiasts in general. Our employees are often on site in sometimes extreme conditions to carry out surveys and sampling.
