19th Gumpenstein Lysimeter Conference successfully held as a webinar

Due to corona, the 19th Gumpenstein Lysimeter Conference was held as a webinar for the first time this year on April 13th, 2021 and April 14th, 2021.

While there were some concerns among the organization team in advance as to whether this new format would be well received, these were already quelled upon registration.

Around 85 participants from Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Argentina, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland were able to follow 18 top-class lectures on the topics of soil water balance, nutrient balance, pollutants and other lysimeter topics over the two exciting webinar days.

In a poster session, the format of which was also very well received, 11 posters on a wide variety of topics were presented in 5-minute short lectures.

Finally, two short quotes from the recently received feedback on the conference:

    • “Thanks again to you and your colleagues for the excellent organization. Everything also worked great in the online format, compliments.”
    • “Of course, a webinar does not replace a personal meeting, but: really well done! Stay healthy and hopefully we can see each other “live” again soon in Gumpenstein!”
