Alpine lysimeter station at Stoderzinken

    Alpine lysimeter station at Stoderzinken

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, it was that time again when the Environmental Ecology department set about making the alpine lysimeter station at 1800m above sea level on Stoderzinken winter-ready.

The fence had to be dismantled, the lysimeter had to be resealed and the automatic precipitation collector Pluvio had to be filled with frost protection.

Since there is often up to 2.50 meters of snow at this location in winter, some work had to be done.

Afterwards, two soil profiles were discussed by all colleagues for the soon-to-be published “Soil compartment for grassland soils”. It was checked whether the floor fan is also suitable for people who are not very familiar with this topic. Since this work tool is specifically designed for farmers and practitioners, this was an important step in the final review.

At the end there was a meal together so that we could return to work refreshed.
