    Digital VetMed seminar in Raumberg-Gumpenstein

    Digital VetMed seminar for 30 students from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna took place in Raumberg-Gumpenstein . The theoretical part of the seminar took place at the teaching and research facility, with Dir. Dr. Johann Gasteiner introduced the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and gave an insight into the topic and research in the area of ​​digitalization for herd management and the early detection of animal diseases. DI Christian Fasching elaborated in his contribution

    the possible applications of digital systems and presented the novel option for measuring forestomach motility. The afternoon was characterized by practical ultrasound examinations on cattle in Gumpenstein. Under the professional guidance of Univ. Prof. Dr. Thomas Wittek and Univ. Prof. Dr. Sonja Franz, the students had the opportunity to work on and with the animals.

    The Vice Rector of the Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Univ. Doz. Dr. Jürgen Rehage, presented the study opportunities at this university as part of his previous visit to the HBLFA More than 30 interested students from Raumberg-Gumpenstein found out about the wide range of training opportunities at Austria's only veterinary university and were able to ask their questions. There is a serious shortage of veterinarians in Austria, especially for looking after livestock, which is why a corresponding focus should be placed on this discipline. Vice Rector Rehage was also impressed by the equipment of the research area in Gumpenstein, as there are many research collaborations with the VetMedUni Vienna .
