Animal welfare, yes - but not for me

Animal welfare, yes - but not for me

At the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, intensive research has been carried out to reduce emissions for years. A new cooling system was tested in a short test - the focus of the investigation was on whether this new system could reduce dust. The second key point was whether it was possible to reduce the temperatures in the compartment during the summer months.

Conclusion: These two measures make a significant contribution to minimizing harmful gases in the stable, which in turn means that pig stalls smell less.

Our employee Irene Mösenbacher-Molterer spoke to farming editor Anja Spindler about the emissions impact of animal welfare stables for pigs.
