Small-scale and natural forms of agriculture characterize the mountain landscape in Upper Austria. In the Added Value Mountain Agriculture , people working in science and agriculture work together. Its goal is to highlight the social benefits of mountain agriculture better than before and to increase its value. For this purpose, agricultural services that are not compensated for on the market (e.g. food security, genetic diversity, water storage, etc.) are collected.
The following questions arise when describing the provision of services in mountain agriculture:
- What services are already being provided by farmers?
- Which services can be implemented in the future?
- Which services require additional financial compensation?
State parliament member and district farmer Regina Aspalter, a member of this innovation project, asks for support: “Dear farmers, please take about 10-15 minutes to answer the following questions about your business. The questionnaire can be accessed using the link and QR code above. The evaluation of the questionnaire forms the basis for the development of needs-oriented business models in the Kalkalpen National Park region.”
The survey will be conducted online until June 18, 2023 As a thank you, prizes will be raffled off among all participants.
