    50 years of Styriabride

Colleagues from the Animal Husbandry Systems, Technology & Emissions department took part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the pig producer association on Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at the invitation of Styriabrid.

In the presence of BM Norbert Totschnig, EU MP Simone Schmiedtbauer, State Councilor Johann Seitinger and Chamber of Agriculture President Franz Titschenbacher, chairman Kurt Tauschmann and managing director Raimund Tschiggerl looked back on the past decades and highlighted the milestones in the success story of Styriabrid.

For many years there has been a fruitful collaboration between the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and the producer association based in St. Veit, which has intensified since the pig research stable was put into operation. The investigation of three exhaust air purification systems (PigAir project), feeding tests with regard to the reduction of odor and ammonia emissions (PigAir II project) and the recently launched IBeSt project (adaptation of existing fattening and piglet rearing stables with a view to improving animal welfare) are being carried out in close cooperation with Styriabrid - the animals are delivered by our partner and taken to the slaughterhouse at the end of fattening; e.g. In some cases, the entire feed costs, as well as the costs for the veterinarian and the sulfuric acid for the exhaust air scrubbers, were and are borne by Styriabrid.

We would like to thank you very much for the many years of good cooperation, wish you all the best for your 50th birthday and continued success in the years to come!
