There is a great need throughout Austria for coordinated educational documents on husbandry systems in organic animal husbandry. For this reason, the Austrian Board of Trustees for Agricultural Technology and Land Development (ÖKL) launched the project “Cost-effective stable construction for organic animal husbandry”. The aim of this project was to create stable construction brochures and PowerPoint presentations for cattle, pig and , poultry, sheep and goat farming in organic farming. Experts from all over Austria were involved in this project as part of inter-institutional working groups. The Institute for Species-Appropriate Animal Husbandry and Animal Health and the Institute for Organic Agriculture and Biodiversity of the HBLFA were involved in the preparation of the documents Raumberg-Gumpenstein by contributing specialist contributions.
The new specialist brochures are available from the Austrian Board of Trustees for Agricultural Technology and Land Development (ÖKL), Gußhausstrasse 6, 1040 Vienna, http://www.oekl.at/ .
