    Virtual trip to Brussels

On Thursday, May 6th, 2021, some students from different years had the opportunity to take a virtual trip to Brussels.

After a greeting from FBM Elisabeth Köstinger, we started the journey to the European capital with the “night train” together with 180 other participants. Once there, we first visited the Austrian permanent representation in Brussels. Markus Stadler, a former graduate of our company, gave us a detailed insight into his tasks and activities. He also reported on the recent meetings regarding the new funding period until late into the night. After this visit, Michael Wolf from the European Commission and Simone Schmiedbauer from the European Parliament gave us deep impressions of their everyday work and showed us the long bureaucratic process that it takes to implement a new law.

All three speakers always agreed on one thing. A strong European Union will continue to be needed in the future in order to be able to meet the challenges of our time together.

The virtual tour of Brussels' EU quarter was very interesting for all participants. An exciting, very educational morning came to an end after a quiz. Every student who was interested was able to take something away from it and broaden their horizons.
