There are numerous reasons why a united Europe is important for the citizens of the Member States. Be it the stable currency, internal security, consumer protection, the commitment to healthy food and a clean environment, but above all the peace that the “European Community” has guaranteed for 70 years.
However, due to developments such as Brexit, increasing European skepticism and disillusionment with politics, the EU is facing major challenges and possibly also a turning point. A lot of what Europe can be proud of is taken for granted by some citizens, but is usually no longer perceived as European achievements.
Since the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, the EU has repeatedly been criticized for being inactive. But even if the member states have more leeway for emergency measures, the EU has made a significant contribution to crisis management - largely unnoticed by the public.
The European Days Board of Trustees and the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein have therefore set themselves the goal of using the European Days “Eurovision - have a say, help shape” to re-awaken awareness of the topic of Europe, especially among our young people.
November 20th to 21st, 2020 at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, has been underway since last year . For this purpose, numerous personalities from the church, politics, business and education were won over who will bring the many advantages of a European Union closer to the interested audience with interesting specialist lectures.
