HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein on the expert advisory board of EmiMod

After the large joint projects EmiDat and EmiMin, which were coordinated in recent years by the German KTBL (Board of Trustees for Technology and Construction in Agriculture), the follow-up project EmiMod was recently launched. The EmiMod project investigates emissions from livestock stables, particularly ammonia, climate-impacting gases, odors and bioaerosols.

The aim is to improve and simplify emissions collection and assessment methods to achieve cost-effective and accurate results. The project combines standard measurement methods with new, cost-effective sensors and uses modeling and AI methods to predict emissions. Ultimately, simplified measurement methods and a method manual will be developed to better understand and reduce emissions.

The KTBL convened a European expert advisory board on EmiMod. In addition to Wageningen University, Aarhus University, Utrecht University, the Flemish Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Nutrition and Agroscope in Tänikon, the Animal, Technology & Environment Institute of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein is represented on the committee with Michael Kropsch and Roland Gutwenger.
