The reason for the continuous decline in biodiversity is monotonous agricultural landscapes, the loss of extensively cultivated grassland areas and the expansion of settlement, industrial and traffic areas. This leads to the loss of habitats for plant-pollinating insects such as bees. 15 - 20 different animal species depend on each plant. This means: the more plants the more insects, the more insects the more birds and the more birds the more small game there is.
The great thing is that we can all do something about the loss of biodiversity: In the video, institute director Dr. Bernhard Krautzer told the students at FS Gröbming what options there are in this regard and why it is so important to act now.
