Soil quality in organic pig farming

Soil quality in organic pig farming

The floor is probably the most underestimated part of a barn. As a functional component of a pen, this element must meet requirements for lying comfort, sure footing, ease of cleaning, and durability. These requirements vary considerably depending on the production stage and animal category. In organic pig farming, floors are generally constructed as solid (concrete) surfaces with a slope towards a drainage channel. The video discusses different designs and surface qualities.
