The Organic Farming Institute of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein is a network hub for research, teaching, consulting, and practice. Thus, on September 28, 2023, the meeting of Austrian grassland organic farming consultants took place again in the Organic Farming Institute building at Moarhof, at the invitation of Bio-Austria and the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein.
The program included presentations on weeds in grassland and organic cattle breeding, as well as specialist information on advisory support funding for 2024+ and on ongoing projects and current practical topics. Furthermore, working groups discussed research needs in organic animal nutrition, organic animal husbandry, and organic grassland management in order to directly align new research projects with practical challenges. Finally, participants visited the grassland trials of the Organic Institute, which focused on grassland management that promotes biodiversity.
