    Evaluation criteria for a location-adapted and production-oriented management intensity of permanent meadows in Austria

    In addition to the classic evaluation of dry matter yields, qualitative and ecological criteria such as crude protein, digestibility and biodiversity should be examined as a benchmark for assessing the optimal management intensity of permanent grassland.

     The heterogeneous location conditions of the Austrian grassland will be examined at 20 test locations over five years in order to be able to take into account the climatic influences and long-term effects on the sustainability of the three different management intensities in the criteria to be evaluated.
