The evaluation is divided into a qualitative pre-evaluation and a three-part main evaluation (online survey, qualitative interviews, and internal evaluation). The overall result essentially confirms the previously formulated hypothesis that the FarmLife Education Box is suitable for agricultural schools with regard to the aforementioned topic, meets fundamental didactic requirements, and can be recommended for use in various subjects or across subjects from the 9th grade onward. It is also confirmed that, after completion of the basic seminar and individual familiarization period, the FarmLife Education Box can significantly enrich teachers' lessons. The overall impression of the FarmLife Education Box, assessed using emoticons in the online survey, was rated "very good" and "good" by 50% of respondents.
When interpreting the evaluation results, it should be noted that they are not fully substantiated by the available studies and therefore correspond to those of a pre-scientific study. Further research is necessary to confirm the results.
During the project period, a companion manual for FarmLife Education, a teacher tool, improved school access to farmlife.at, a learning package for the new FarmLife Welfare Tool, and supplements to existing teaching materials were also developed. Introductions to these will be given in the professional development seminars planned for 2024. The new teaching materials for the FarmLife Welfare Tool are available for download on the learning platform of the University of Agricultural and Environmental Education (in the area of Projects and Working Groups/Life Cycle Assessment Tool FarmLife).
An expanded communication network (newsletter, website, posters, etc.) as well as regular training opportunities including a helpdesk for teachers are the results of the sub-goal of dissemination and will be continued even after the project has ended.
Details of the evaluation results can be found in the project final report.
