The evaluation is divided into a qualitative preliminary evaluation and a three-part main evaluation (online survey, qualitatively oriented interviews and internal evaluation). The overall result essentially confirms the previously established hypothesis that the FarmLife educational box is suitable for agricultural schools with regard to the subject area mentioned, meets basic didactic requirements and can be recommended for teaching in different subjects or across subjects from the 9th grade onwards. It is also confirmed that the FarmLife educational box can significantly enrich the teachers' lessons after completing the basic seminar and individual training period. The overall impression of the FarmLife educational box, assessed in the online survey using emoticons, was rated 50% as “very good” or “good”.
When interpreting the evaluation results, it must be taken into account that they are not fully confirmed by the available studies and therefore correspond to those of a pre-scientific study. Further investigations are necessary to confirm the results.
During the project period, an accompanying manual for FarmLife Education, a teacher tool and improved school access on farmlife.at, a learning package for the new FarmLife Welfare tool and additions to the existing teaching material were also created. Introductions to this will be given in the training seminars planned for 2024. The new teaching materials for the FarmLife Welfare tool are available for download on the learning platform of the University of Agricultural and Environmental Education (in the Projects and Working Groups/Life Cycle Assessment Tool FarmLife section).
An expanded communication network (newsletter, website, posters, etc.) as well as regular training courses including a helpdesk for teachers are the results of the sub-goal dissemination and will be continued after the project.
Details on the evaluation results can be found in the final project report.
