Under this motto, a cooperation started with the aim of enriching extensively used green areas around the technical school with herbs from the extensive grassland and converting some of the existing areas into richly blooming meadows made of native wildflowers. Biodiversity areas were cultivated on 3,000m² with the technical and logistical support of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein and this topic was also integrated into the lessons.
In a long-term project, these areas will inspire the students and hopefully also provide an example for many of their own initiatives to promote biodiversity on the doorstep and in the cultural landscape. In the future, many of the sown herbs will be used in the kitchen, in teas and as table decorations, thus adding additional value.
