Only 18 schools in Austria received the coveted award, which were selected by a top-class jury according to strict criteria. It is a special recognition for the collaboration between science and teaching and the opportunity to get young, motivated students excited about science and to get them actively involved. In addition, the efforts of colleagues and the good cooperation between the two schools are of great importance for the region.
On behalf of all teachers from Stainach High School, who have made it possible for students to successfully implement scientific projects together with research institutions for many years, the certificate was presented by the Ministry for Science, Research and Economy to Dir. Mag. Dr. Ulrike Pieslinger and the submitter Mag. Georg Frauscher in the presence of state school inspector Mag. Birgit Schwarz.
For the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, Dir. Mag. Dr. Anton Hausleitner, DI Renate Mayer and Michael Roschitz received the Young Science seal of quality.
Regular and sustained participation in research projects, research-oriented focuses in school lessons, demanding projects and their quality assurance, as well as the active participation of students in research projects or pre-scientific Matura theses are mandatory criteria for being awarded the Young Science seal of quality.
Univ.-Prof. Christiane Spiel and Em. Univ.-Prof. Peter Skalicky explained the achievements of the two schools and recognized them as important centers of excellence in the region. The schools also receive their own quality seal board on which the most important cooperation partners in the natural sciences and economics are listed.
