As part of the research work, the possibility of using mid-infrared spectra of milk - for the retrospective assessment of the nutrient and energy supply of dairy cows - is being investigated in an exact experiment.
If the results are promising, the methodology or procedure could be taken into account in breeding value estimation, breeding orientation and herd management and thus make an important contribution to ensuring animal health.
