    Cattle fattening and product quality

Research results from Raumberg-Gumpenstein show that neither the daily weight gain nor the feed or energy expenditure nor the slaughter and carcass assessment change if the young animals are suckled for different lengths of time. However, concentrated feed can be saved due to the longer suckling period. If the fodder area requirement is similar, the ratio of arable or grassland area required for fodder production changes.
