    Horses in class

Our students have the opportunity to engage with the fascinating topic of HORSES in a variety of ways as part of their school education. This can be done in the form of optional subjects, in the subject “Special Animal Husbandry” and in the diploma thesis for the school leaving certificate and the school leaving examination.

    Matriculation exam

As part of the oral school leaving examination, the subject "Special livestock farming" will be available according to the 2004 curriculum and the Matura regulations since 2008/2009.

    Thesis

The diploma thesis is a written specialist paper that can be written in the last year of training. You can choose the topic yourself, so horse topics can be selected. So far, numerous students have already made use of this opportunity (see topics of the awarded diploma theses under teaching content - Matura/the final examination - the diploma theses).

    Special livestock farming

Since 2008/2009, the compulsory elective subject “Special Animal Husbandry” has been available in the last year of training. In this item, the area of “horse husbandry” will be dealt with in greater detail.

Free subject horse keeping and riding

The optional subject “Horse Keeping” deals with the basics of feeding, breeding, ethology and care. In 2007/2008 the subject was offered by DI Wolfgang Carlsson.

The optional riding subject consists exclusively of practical units that are held by professional riding instructors at our partner companies Schloss Pichlarn/Riedl and Walter Giselbrecht. A contribution to expenses of 10 euros per hour must be borne by the participants themselves. In 2007/2008 the subject took place with Ms. Isabelle Stockinger and Ms. Nina Kammerhofer.
