With the motto “ Storm to the summit!” Styrian Expeditions to the Roof of the World ,” the director of the Trautenfels Castle Museum, Mag. Katharina Krenn, and her team, who were familiar with the exhibition, warmly welcomed us. We actively immersed ourselves in the historical events of Austrian mountaineers.
A highlight of Styrian alpine history was written 40 years ago: the first Austrians stood on the “roof of the world”, Mount Everest, for the first time on May 3, 1978.
With the help of the mountaineers' original equipment and 3D printed model buildings, we were able to get more into the experience.
In addition to other historical aspects, we were introduced to the creation of the Enns Valley using a 3D film. The history of the castle was also explained to us with interesting and informative video excerpts.
As a crowning finale, we climbed the observation tower, which gave us a wonderful view of the Ennstal.
