“Refreshing – a breath of fresh air for our biotope”

As part of the project teaching at the HBLFA Raumberg Gumpenstein, the 4UR year group is tackling the improvement of the school biotope in Trautenfels.

Water ecological measures are planned to protect this habitat and prevent siltation. It is also planned to build an open-air class in the form of a covered walkway and set up information boards to make the biotope more attractive for biology lessons in schools.

The recreational function of this popular area is not forgotten and the seating and paths are being renovated. Consequently, earthworks will take place on the biotope in spring 2023 in order to dredge sedimentation basins and to guarantee the water supply to the Rieger fish farm.
