    Our new waste officers

As part of environmental education, training to become a certified waste officer is offered at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein in collaboration with the TÜV AUSTRIA AKADEMIE and it4eduacation. 36 students from the 4U, 2 ALG and 3 ALG years took advantage of this opportunity in the 2020/21 school year They took part in training to become certified waste management officers and, after successfully completing the exams, acquired the waste management certificate (ABA) .

They were accompanied by professors Ingrid Prieger- Edlinger and Lena Sonnleitner as well as our graduate Florian PETER . We congratulate you on this great additional qualification and thank everyone who made this possible.

The extensive training is divided into 3 modules . In the first module - the Green Future Certificate - students acquire the necessary environmental knowledge in the areas of sustainability, resource and energy management. The second module – Green Future Certificate plus – focuses on the areas of environmental management, waste management, material flow analysis and controlling.

The third module, training to become a waste officer , is the most comprehensive module. The topics are:

    • Environmental management systems (ISO 14001 & EMAS),
    • waste management in Austria,
    • the environmental legal framework,
    • the deployment, duties and tasks of a waste representative, as well
    • deals with the obligations of waste owners.
    • Of course, the basic framework for creating a waste management concept in the company should not be missing.

An exam had to be taken for each of the individual modules. If the individual partial tests are passed successfully, the TÜV Austria Academy will award the waste management certificate. The TÜV Academy in Brunn am Gebirge was allowed to send the certificate by post to all 36 participants after they passed the exam.

Due to the Corona requirements, the test had to be carried out online under the strict supervision of the TÜV Academy employees. For this reason, we are unfortunately unable to publish a group photo of this year's participants.
