My Summer - My Picture - My Internship

Under this motto, in June of last year all students of the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein were invited to submit their best practical photos from their summer internship to a photo competition.

Our students in the five-year programs at HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein are required to complete three summer internships. One of these, the extended internship, lasts 14 weeks. Completing the internship in another country is becoming increasingly popular.

Our students are courageous and daring when they do their practical training in Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Germany, Italy, Romania, Holland, France, Switzerland, or even in New Zealand or the USA.

In cooperation with the Austrian Rural Youth Association, placement and, above all, funding through the Erasmus+ program are also possible. Each year, approximately 40 female students from our school take advantage of this offer, receiving funding averaging between €2,200 and €2,500 per student. They will receive support during their practical placements.

  • more independent and self-confident,
  • get to know new people and cultures,
  • organizing and improvising during the journey and on excursions in the host country,
  • They learn languages, different ways of working, production sectors, techniques and approaches to agriculture.

This practical experience is full of adventures – the unfamiliar landscape, the work and living together with colleagues or the practice family, the interaction with animals – all these are special events during the practical experience. It was important to capture these impressions with a camera or mobile phone.
