Professor Johann Hiden originally came from St. Stefan ob Stainz, Western Styria and was a graduate of our Raumberg school, graduating in 1965. After military service as a hunter, he completed his studies at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. Hans, as his friends and colleagues called him, started teaching at HBLA Raumberg in 1972 and from 1991 to 2000 he was very successful as Direktor of our school. He taught the subjects of business administration, geography, chemistry, chemistry laboratory and the optional subject of photography and he also served as an educator.
Professor Hans Hiden designed his lessons to be very practical and true to life. He was extremely patient and, in his leadership role, particularly team-oriented, economical and caring. He viewed and treated his staff and students as his greatest asset and this was reflected in his great popularity. Hans Hiden was very family-oriented and he loved working in the forest as well as his great hobby, photography.
