Change of perspective – experience nature barrier-free

“Change of perspective – experiencing nature without barriers” – project team for the 2nd advanced course in agriculture at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein, school year 2023/2024

The project theme of this year's 2nd advanced course was “Experience nature without barriers” and was ceremoniously presented on June 6, 2024 . The students of the 2nd advanced course at the HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein have set themselves the goal of making nature accessible to people with disabilities .

They want to give everyone the chance to experience nature in Raumberg-Gumpenstein . The project was supervised by Prof. Peter Schweiger (school), DI Renate Mayer (research acquisition) and student Julian Kohlmann (project manager). After director Johann Gasteiner welcomed the guests and conveyed the greetings from Christian Kaper, head of the Schools and Centers for Teaching and Research department as well as the central contact point for gender mainstreaming, equal treatment, human rights and integration, Prof. Peter Schweiger and DI Renate Mayer explained the background and challenges of the project. The students then presented the project in detail. It included different departments with their own group leaders and work focuses.

 

 

Mayor Roland Raninger from the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg continued with his greetings. The “Gardening” team from Lebenshilfe Ennstal also introduced itself. The presentation of all work areas and the variety of products that could be examined during the excursion impressed the guests. Gertrude Rieger, managing director of Lebenshilfe Ennstal, also thanked us for the project.

 

 

This was followed by excursions led .

  • The excursions led to the observation deck with a handrail and scent houses
  • An XXL picture frame provided the Grimming in the background as a photo motif
  • At one station you could try bread and find out more about how it is made
  • A hand-held tactile path made it possible to feel 10 natural substances
  • In addition, interesting thesis topics and a hub on land use presented
  • At the foil house , the plants grown by Lebenshilfe Ennstal Horticulture shown.

 

 

After the excursion, the school band under the direction of Mag. Dr. Helmut Kalss for cozy entertainment. The students provided the guests with home-brewed Raumberg beer, bratwursts, vegetarian schnitzels, juice and water . They were able to enjoy this under the trees of the castle forest. A big thank you goes to the students of the 2nd advanced course at HBLFA Raumberg-Gumpenstein , who implemented the topic “Change of perspective – experiencing nature without barriers” so successfully and put on a great party. Another thank you goes to the companies Bakery Trafella and Schrottshammer Drinks GmbH for their donations.
