    Malting barley in climate change

The raw material in the brewing process is changing

The issue of the ORF magazine Land&Leute dealt with many relevant aspects of beer production in connection with climate change and was produced by Land Creates Life. The HBLFA was also able to make a short contribution to this. Basic information about the cultivation of malting barley and the challenges of climate change were portrayed. As part of the BioFieldFood project, research was carried out on the cultivation of spring brewing barley in autumn for three consecutive years. Due to the changed climate, this option is now also being used in practice in the foothills of the Alps.
