Breeding processing of grasses and legumes as well as the composition of high-quality seed mixtures for grassland.
Development, testing, processing and dissemination of crop alternatives in arable farming and grassland management.
Establishment and operation of a gene bank for ecotypes of grasses, legumes and herbs as well as testing of grass and legume varieties for commercial grassland.
- Development of technology for seed production of grassland plants as well as methods for determining seed quality
- Conservation and dissemination of genetic resources in grassland
- Composition of seed mixtures for commercial and extensive grassland
- Collection of ecotypes of site-specific grasses and herbs
- Development of processes for the renaturation of grassland communities to promote flower-pollinating insects
- Further development of processes for erosion protection and recultivation
- Development and evaluation of methods for improving plant populations, especially for reseeding in grassland
