Bioeconomy - an opportunity for agriculture? - 75th Podcast

What is the bioeconomy and what opportunities arise for climate protection, resource use and the future of agriculture

Bioeconomy is an economic system that operates in harmony with the laws of nature and is based on circular, sustainably produced renewable raw materials (biomass).

Dr. Martin Greimel, head of the Center for Bioeconomy at BOKU, discusses with Dr. Andreas Steinwidder, how a change from our current linear economic system to a bioeconomy can succeed. The topic of what the bioeconomy can contribute to solving the most important societal challenges such as climate change, scarcity of resources and loss of biodiversity is also addressed.
