The Republic of Azerbaijan has 10 million inhabitants and is located in the Middle East on the Caspian Sea. The emerging country faces particular challenges in agriculture and food supply. In order to steer development positively and promote self-sufficiency in food through sustainable agriculture, special investments will be made in education and research .
Austria is regarded internationally as a model country in this regard. The activities and structures that support the intensive collaboration between research and practice and consulting, as well as the integration with teaching, attracted particular interest. Over the next few years, the Austrian side will provide appropriate support for the development of agricultural education, research and advisory services in Azerbaijan. Raumberg-Gumpenstein will also contribute its technical expertise.
