VineAdapt: International workshop on climate-adapted and biodiversity-friendly viticulture in Europe

Viticulture in Europe has to deal with the effects of climate change. Increasing periods of drought in summer, a high risk of erosion due to heavy rainfall and the immigration of new pests require innovative solutions. The LIFE project VineAdapt aims to help improve the resilience of wine-growing ecosystems to climatic changes. Increasing biological diversity and adapting vineyard management are crucial to this. From 2020 to 2025, eight practice and research partners from Germany, France, Austria and Hungary will focus on five work packages. Public relations and knowledge transfer measures are intended to help transfer the project results into viticultural practice.

A mid-term workshop as a digital event (part 1) will take place on This part is organized by the Landgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt .

On this day, experiences and knowledge from the project and beyond are to be collected and networked with one another.

Part 2 of the workshop is scheduled to on another day at the end of April (in Germany this is April 26th) in the project regions on site .

The focus of this day is on the discussion and development of recommendations for European climate-adapted and biodiversity-friendly viticulture and the exchange of experiences on site.
