The Austrian Board of Trustees for Agricultural Engineering and Rural Development (ÖKL) has republished the brochure “Rare Livestock Breeds”.
The fifth edition has been completely updated and expanded (ÖKL publication series LTS 231). It includes 42 breed profiles, from the Sulmtaler chicken to the Noriker and the Turopolje pig, information on conservation breeding, genetic conservation programs, funding opportunities within the current ÖPUL program, and much more.
The Institute for Organic Agriculture and Biodiversity of Farm Animals, within the framework of the management of ÖNGENE, made a significant contribution to this brochure.
