    In permanent grassland, adaptation measures to drought (low soil moisture) are severely limited.

    Optimal use of the water resource is therefore necessary. Options for adapting to drought include improving water absorption and infiltration into the soil, making better use of existing soil water reserves and minimizing soil evaporation. Both agriculture and water management benefit from this.
