Organic pasture and milking robots

Combining pasture grazing with automatic milking systems (AMS) presents particular challenges for farm, feeding, and pasture management. The question arises as to how grazing, so crucial for animal-friendly cattle husbandry, can be best reconciled with AMS. In this project by the Organic Institute, international findings are being evaluated, experiences from AMS-using farms in Austria are being collected, and recommendations for farm-specific strategies are being derived.
