Moor excursion 2023

Among terrestrial ecosystems, intact moors and moorland soils are by far the best carbon stores. However, moors and litter meadows are also valuable from a cultural and historical perspective and from a nature conservation perspective. They provide habitat for many plant and animal species and thus increase biodiversity in the cultivated landscape. Pipe grass meadows, slender sedge swamps and reed beds are also unique litter meadows.

Renaturation (rewetting) and
Biotope management.

As part of the moor excursion, on the first day we visit the moors in the Raumberg-Gumpenstein area: the Trautenfels nature reserves, the Obersdorfer and the Ödensee moor, the Pürgschachen moor and the Pichlmaier moor. On the second day we first go to the Wörschacher Moos and then up to the Spechtensee in Wörschachwald.

Arrival to the moors: starting from the meeting point with the possibility of carpooling or Private arrival
Participation: Anyone interested can take part free of charge - it is also possible to join us directly at the moors
